Proper use of the forest
The forest is shared by many different groups of users:
lumberjacks, hunters, walkers, horse riders, mountain bikers,
naturalists, etc.. Therefore, when using the forest, we must
bear in mind a set of rules that combine good sense and mutual
respect:
Prohibited
It is forbidden to light fires of any kind in the forest,
except for wood felling purposes (art. 322.1 of the Forestry
Code).
Unauthorised camping is prohibited in the forest.
Driving vehicles through the trees is prohibited. Vehicles
can only be driven on the roads left open for public traffic
by the owner: these are resurfaced or metalled roads, which
do not have fences. None of the natural paths and trails are
open to motor vehicle traffic.
Parking in front of gates is prohibited (Highway Code),
because this might prevent access by service or emergency
vehicles.
Take care
Rubbish must be taken with you.
Wild animals deserve respect. Do not disturb them.
Dogs must be kept on a lead.
Picking large amounts of plants is damaging for the
environment. Foliage or flower picking should be limited to
a handful.
Mushrooms should be picked for personal consumption
only, and in reasonable quantities (less than 3 kg per person).
It is forbidden to pick them for commercial purposes.
Any event involving more than 10 people is subject
to the agreement of the forestry service.
