Anzac

Samara estate, 15 km west of Amiens, takes you on a journey back to Prehistoric times. Here you will discover how the first men lived in their Prehistoric environment. You will learn about their trades through demonstrations of flint cutting, pottery, fire-making and weaving.

Two permanent exhibitions enable visitors to familiarise themselves with key documents giving a better understanding of the history of our distant ancestors: "Scenes from Prehistory" (guided tours with the help of reconstructed scenes from the Palaeolithic to the Gallo-Roman era), "600,000 years of history in the Somme" (free visit of the major stages and upheavals of the 600 millennia preceding history and a century of archaeology in the region).
